30+ Years of Semiconductor Technology Innovation
1990 – Founders Ron Reedy, Mark Burgener and Rory Moore launch Peregrine Semiconductor. The company obtains the fundamental UltraCMOS® patent from HP and Caltech.
1991 – Naval Ocean Systems Center (NOSC) and Peregrine sign a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CARDA), allowing Peregrine to commercialize UltraCMOS technology.
1993 – The company files its first patent.
1995 – Peregrine delivers its first order, 100 chips to Sciteq Electronics.
2000 – Peregrine ships its first million-piece order and enters the automotive market.
2004 – The company enters the mobile handset market.
2005 – Peregrine introduces a patented design-enhancement technology, enabling dramatic improvement in harmonic performance, linearity and overall RF performance.
2008 – Peregrine announces new technology for mobile antenna tuning, solving one of the biggest challenges in RF design—antenna impedance matching.
2011 – The company ships its one-billionth chip and founders Reedy and Burgener receive the world-renowned IEEE Daniel E. Noble Award for Emerging Technologies.
2012 – Under the ticker symbol “PSMI,” Peregrine stock begins trading on the NASDAQ.
2013 – Peregrine signs a collaborative sourcing and licensing agreement with Murata Manufacturing Company and ships its two-billionth chip.
2014 – Peregrine is acquired by electronics giant Murata and becomes a subsidiary of Murata.
2017 – Peregrine acquires Arctic Sand, expanding its portfolio of power management integrated circuits (ICs).
2018 – Peregrine changes its corporate name to pSemi and expands its product portfolio.
2019 - pSemi ships its five-billionth chip.
2020 - pSemi celebrates its 30-year business anniversary.
